Three weeks in a village of builders, with your whole family

Edge City India is a three-week popup village on Mandrem Beach in North Goa, where hundreds of founders, researchers, and creatives live, work, and build together. It is multigenerational by design. Your children are not a logistics problem to solve. They are part of the village.

Why we are pointing families here

The rarest thing in worldschooling: a real community, already assembled

Most family travel means building your community from scratch in every new city. Edge City flips that. For three weeks, hundreds of founders, builders, researchers, scientists, and creatives move into one village: coworking, daily programming and salons, 8 to 10 focused residencies, movement, good food, and neighbors worth knowing. It lands in India for the first time, in a country that is home to one of the world's largest and fastest-growing builder communities, and to living traditions of Ayurveda, yoga, and the study of consciousness that few other places offer. October into November is the start of Goa's dry season, right after the monsoon: lush green landscapes, warm ocean, clear days.

Village life

What a day looks like

The rhythm is simple and humane. It is a working village, not a conference, and the days are built to be lived in as a family.

Mornings

Movement and nature

Mornings start with movement or time in nature. Yoga on an open deck, a swim, a walk down a beach that is still waking up.

Afternoons

Deep work at The Circle

Afternoons are for deep coworking and collaboration at The Circle, the beach-facing hub at the center of the village.

Evenings

Talks, demos, dinners

Evenings bring fireside talks, workshops, demo days, and self-organized dinners. The best conversations tend to start after dark.

Bring the whole family

Multigenerational by design

“Partners, children, and grandparents are all welcome.”

From the Edge City India FAQ. Their stated principle: a community from toddlers to centenarians.

This is what makes Edge City different from every other builder gathering we have looked at. Children are expected residents of the village, present at meals, on the beach, and in the flow of daily life alongside people building at the frontier. For a worldschooling family, that is three weeks of the education you cannot buy by the hour.

Now announced

Edge Tomorrow: the children's program is confirmed

Edge Tomorrow is the village's intergenerational creative program for children and teens, and it is running at Edge City India. Children get a project environment of their own, supported by facilitators and the founders, artists, and technologists around them, with projects that grow from their interests: an imaginary city, a business, a film, a giant installation. Ages 4–13 join the core environment; teens 14–17 participate and take on leadership roles. Come for one week or all three.

The proof it works: at Edge City's California village this summer, 32 children from 22 families built a cardboard city of 66 structures, ran three businesses of their own, and produced their own events for the village.

The frontier, in small groups

Who you will be living next to

The village organizes itself into small groups building around shared frontiers. Founders, builders, researchers, scientists, and creatives, working in the open, with the door left ajar for curious children and their parents.

Eight to ten focused residencies run through the village, and the first are announced: a Community Builders Residency for people who run communities for a living, and a storytellers residency for filmmakers and writers making work about what the village is building. There is even a Road to Edge caravan, October 1–11, winding 1,000 km from Bangalore through South India's farms and regenerative villages to arrive as Goa opens.
